When hosting Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 or NAV 2018 on Azure, it is provided as an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering. Azure supplies the essential hardware (virtual machines), storage, and networking capabilities needed for your Dynamics AX or NAV system. However, customers must still manage and update the operating systems, databases, and other applications and services installed within the Azure environment. This includes tasks such as optimizing system performance, monitoring available storage space, installing critical security patches, updating the OS and database, and performing other platform management activities.
